Jesus raises from the dead, then has to leave. And this greatly concerns the disciples, but in comes the Holy Spirit. We kick off today’s episode talking about the importance of the Holy Spirit and the significance of the event of Pentecost.

Just a thought … the NASB translates Acts 2:2-3 as “2 And suddenly a noise like a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 And tongues that looked like fire appeared to them, [b]distributing themselves, and a tongue [c]rested on each one of them.” Although I agree with Becky when she said God “breathed the Holy Spirit” into the people, and the fact that it most likely references back to the creation of Adam & Eve, I also believe these passages also refer back to the Pillar of Fire that led the Jews out of Egypt. “noise like a violent rushing wind” and “tongues that looked like fire” seem to have elements of the Pillar of Fire” AND… the Holy Spirit leads us in our lives with Christ, similarly to how the Pillar of Fire lead the Jews, but now in a much more intimate way. At any rate … just a thought.
