Beyond 60 Ministries
Beyond 60 Ministries is programming for Senior Adults and those reaching retirement. We provide a variety of opportunities for Spiritual growth, learning, fellowship, and fun. It is our hope that you will get involved or reach out to us for help. The goal of Beyond 60 Ministries is to meet the needs of Senior Adults and their families while also seeking to bring Senior Adults into service for others. Beyond 60 offers outings, Bible studies, movie days, educational series, community service, and so much more! This is an active group that enjoys fellowship with each other, and we want to walk along side you during the changes of life.
In addition to the things above we are also pleased to offer families assistance navigating the changes that come with aging. Marie Burns, Director of Senior Adult Ministries, holds a Masters in Social Work and a specialization in Gerontology. She would be happy to meet with families or Senior Adults and offer knowledge and assistance where possible.
First Friday Fellowship – Every first Friday during the school year we gather in the Fellowship Hall at 6pm for dinner and fun! After dinner stay for games, a movie, or just good fellowship around the table. All senior adults are welcome.
Don’t Mention Age – Also known as “DMA,” this is a potluck lunch on the fourth Wednesday of every month. We meet in the Fellowship Hall at 11:30am. The church provides the main dish. Please bring a side dish or a dessert. If you are unable to prepare a dish, please donate $3.
Volunteer Projects – The dates vary but every month we volunteer our time at either Russ Place Assisted Living or at the Outdoor Wilderness Learning Center (OWL). At the OWL we help jar their jellies and salsas, an important fundraising product for their ministry. At Russ Place we always bring a snack or a craft, but ultimately we visit.
We do so much more! Please contact Marie Burns for more details.
