Greetings in the name of Christ our Savior!
My name is Lori Spangler, and I am excited to be joining the staff at Trinity. I want to begin by sharing a few things about myself and my family. My husband Jason and I have been married for 26 years, and we have been blessed with four children. Callie (23), Jay Cooper (20) Jude (19) and Jackson (17). Jason works in the field of Information Technology and Security (IT&S). He is quiet until you get to know him, but he is the rock of our family and has always been so very supportive of my call to ministry. Jason and the boys love to duck hunt and all things baseball. Callie is bubbly, outgoing and a ray of sunshine. We are a very close family and enjoy being together. We also have 3 fur babies. A goldendoodle named Maggie, a labradoodle named Rudy Grace, and a lab mix named Ace. Our house is chaotic and full of life.
As for me, I have been referred to as “energetic” and “out-going.” I love God’s people and am thankful for the opportunity that ministry gives me to pour into the hearts and lives of others. Currently, I am working on a Masters of Divinity through Asbury Theological Seminary. I am almost finished. Praise the Lord! I do love school and the opportunity to learn and grow. I have served as Lead Pastor to a 2-point charge consisting of smaller congregations, Lead Pastor to a 3-point charge, Lead Pastor for a younger church and I have served as an Associate Pastor to a larger church. Prior to answering the call to pastoral ministry, I served as an Assistant Youth Director for 6 years. Most recently, I have served as a Palliative Care Chaplain at St. Francis Medical Center. I am thankful for this diversity, as it has allowed me to see the uniqueness and beauty of serving different congregations and people groups. I have been blessed to serve some amazing people, and I look forward to the wonderful things God has in store for OUR time together! How exciting!
Outside of ministry and school, I enjoy thrifting, reading, planting flowers, cleaning (I seriously love to clean and organize), and being with my family. I am authentic to a fault and “what you see is what you get.” I am a small-town girl from Winn Parish who was raised in the country by my grandparents, who instilled this truth in me…. “Work hard, do good and love God.” I pray for the ability to serve you well, that we will do great work together, and most importantly, that we will come to love God, one another and our neighbors in a mighty way.
I look forward to meeting each of you!
Blessings,
Pastor Lori
